Jim St. James is an American singer-songwriter, recording artist, and live performer whose independent career spans more than thirty-five years. From his roots in Northwest Indiana to Nashville, Tennessee, St. James has written, recorded, and performed original music while building audiences throughout the United States, Canada and beyond.
Choosing an independent path rather than the traditional major-label route, St. James built his career one song, one performance, and one audience at a time. In 2026, that connection expanded substantially as museums, historical organizations, aviation institutions and educational organizations in the United States and abroad began incorporating “Amelia” into exhibits, collections, archives, educational resources and public programming.
National Women’s Hall of Fame — Seneca Falls, New York
“Amelia” has been confirmed for use in connection with the Hall’s Amelia Earhart exhibit. The National Women’s Hall of Fame is the nation’s oldest membership organization dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the achievements of distinguished American women.
Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum — Atchison, Kansas
On September 17, 2026, “Amelia” found an enduring home at the house where Amelia Earhart was born on July 24, 1897. Dedicated to preserving her life, achievements and influence, the Birthplace Museum represents one of the most direct connections possible between the song and the woman who inspired it.
Atchison County Historical Society — Atchison, Kansas
“Amelia” has been added to the Atchison County Historical Society’s digital archive, preserving the recording within an institution dedicated to documenting and safeguarding the history of Amelia Earhart’s hometown and birthplace. Based at the historic Santa Fe Depot in Atchison, the Society preserves extensive local history connected to the community that shaped Earhart’s earliest years. The placement gives “Amelia” a permanent archival connection to Atchison itself—the community where Amelia Earhart’s remarkable story began.
The Air League — London, England
“Amelia” has been selected for educational use by one of the United Kingdom’s most established aviation organizations. Founded in 1909, The Air League is the UK’s leading aviation, aerospace and space charity, inspiring new generations through education, outreach and one of the country’s most extensive aviation scholarship programs. The organization plans to incorporate “Amelia” into aviation-history educational material for its developing online learning platform, bringing the song and Earhart’s story to young people across the United Kingdom.
Kansas Aviation Museum — Wichita, Kansas
“Amelia” has been welcomed into the Museum’s audio listening project, where it will become part of a collection of voices and music connected with the aviation history of Wichita Municipal Airport. Housed in the airport’s historic terminal, the Museum preserves the story of Wichita’s emergence as one of America’s great aviation centers, giving “Amelia” a listening home devoted to preserving the people, stories and sounds of aviation history.
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service — Howland Island
“Amelia” has been welcomed for use in future presentations relating to Howland Island and Amelia Earhart. Howland was the destination Earhart and navigator Fred Noonan were attempting to reach during their final flight in 1937, creating an especially meaningful connection between the recording and one of the most consequential places in her story.
Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum — Honolulu, Hawaii
The Museum has authorized “Amelia” for use across its social-media and web presentations. Its connection to Earhart includes her historic flights from Hawaii and her 1937 world-flight attempt from Ford Island, giving the placement a direct connection to an important chapter in her aviation history.
Medford Historical Society & Museum — Medford, Massachusetts
“Amelia” has been accepted into the Society’s collection and Master Index for potential use in speaking programs, exhibits, museum presentations and its website. Medford was home to Amelia Earhart and her sister Muriel, and the Society continues to preserve and interpret that important chapter of the Earhart story.
Thiel College — Greenville, Pennsylvania
On September 16, 2026, Thiel accepted “Amelia” for inclusion on its Amelia Earhart webpage. Earhart visited Thiel in 1932, delivered a keynote address and received an honorary Doctor of Science degree from the College. Her connection to Thiel continued through plans supporting opportunities for women, and following her disappearance, an organization founded in her honor raised substantial funds for women’s activities and causes at the College. Thiel has also invited St. James and “Amelia” to be included in a future editorial feature.
Millville Army Air Field Museum — Millville, New Jersey
“Amelia” has been accepted for presentation during the Museum’s September 19, 2026 Amelia Earhart program and is scheduled to be played for the audience. The Museum preserves the history of the former World War II training base at Millville Airport—recognized as America’s first defense airport—and presents aviation history through exhibitions, education and public programming.
Historic Croydon Airport Trust — Croydon, England
“Amelia” will be featured on September 30, 2026, as part of an evening devoted to Amelia Earhart and her final journey. The recording will welcome guests as they arrive and take their seats at historic Croydon Airport, London’s principal international airport before Heathrow assumed that role after World War II. The song may also be considered for additional historical and educational uses, extending its presence within a landmark of British aviation history with its own connection to Earhart.
Together with its longstanding presence on the official Amelia Earhart website, these placements have given “Amelia” a growing role in historical preservation, museum interpretation, aviation education and the continuing remembrance of Amelia Earhart’s life and legacy.
“Caroline” — #1 Americana Chart Success
St. James’ recording “Caroline” reached #1 on the national Roots Music Report Americana Chart and remained on the chart for twelve consecutive weeks. During its chart run, “Caroline” rose above recordings by acclaimed Americana artists including Lyle Lovett, Lori McKenna, Jack Ingram, Pat Green, Jason Boland and Walt Wilkins, reflecting strong national support from independent Americana radio.
St. James’ body of work reflects the traditions of the American singer-songwriter and a longstanding commitment to documenting people, places, experiences and stories through original music.
Today, St. James continues to write, record, release and perform original music while hosting his Variety Show at The Green Room at The Studio in LaPorte, Indiana. His work continues to connect independent American songwriting with live performance, historical preservation and education.

Jim St. James – Legacy Performance Timeline
Jim St. James didn’t just play music — he built a life on the road and the stories behind it.
Cruising down the highways in his 1989 Lincoln Limo Campinental, he blazed a path through the sun-scorched cafés of Arizona to the humid dive bars of Florida, from Pensacola’s beach stage to Key West, his music carried across borders and back again.
He’s played in Texas roadhouses, Mississippi juke joints, East coast Hotels, New Orleans tourist spots, and South Dakota art fairs. He lit up Alabama bars and community centers, Kentucky festivals, California patios, Florida breweries, Missouri riversides, and Indiana’s backyards — always bringing the song home.
But the road didn’t stop in America. He sang in England’s pubs, played to youth in Poland’s hostels, filled quiet air in Austria, and performed intimate sets in Italy — where the cobblestones echoed back in harmony.
When Jim's mother fell ill in 2022, touring was put on hiatus as he is her caregiver, and as of this writing, still is, but you can catch him performing, in NW Indiana and SW Michigan on a regular basis and hosting the Variety Show Open Mic and Jam at the all new Green Room at the Studio every Sunday in historic downtown LaPorte, IN. 5 to 8 PM CST.
